Support Services Bureau Commander

Captain Charles McDonald began his law enforcement career with the Cobb County Police Department (Georgia) as a patrol officer in 1993. He served as an officer there before joining the Hoover Police Department in 1996. He has worked in various assignments in the Hoover Police Department including uniformed patrol, Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) and Special Response Team (SRT). He has been promoted through the ranks and has held command positions in the Special Response Team, Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions. He has also assisted with Public Information Officer.

Captian McDonald holds a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree from Georgia State University.  He was promoted to Captain in July 2016.
