National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday October 28, 2023
This Saturday October 28, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hoover PD and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs (over the counter pills will be accepted also). Bring your pills for disposal to Hoover City Hall at 100 Municipal Lane. (We cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps; only pills or patches.)
The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. You will be able to quickly and conveniently drive around City Hall and drop off your items. Please remain in your vehicle and Officers will assist you.
Many residents may not be aware that medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet. Thank you Hoover community for doing your part in making our City a safer place!
