We are proud to announce that four more HPD School Resource Officers have reached one of the highest levels of achievement for an SRO. They obtained the status of National SRO Practitioner.
The National SRO Practitioner program was established as a way for NASRO, police agencies, and school districts to recognize officers who have excelled in the area of school-based policing. The program seeks to distinguish those officers who are committed to serving our nation’s youth, along with the communities and schools they serve.
Officers Chris Grantham, Cliff Harris, Brian Johnson and Tom Kitchens Kevin Hollis join the ranks of four other existing Hoover PD SRO Practitioners.
We are also pleased to announce that it is the goal of every HPD Resource Officer to obtain this status, and the remaining officers in the SRO unit are currently working towards achieving their accreditation.
Congratulations to these officers for going above and beyond not only for the community they serve, but to each and every child in the HCS system.
