HPD hosts SRO training

#FeelGoodFriday

A new school year is almost here…

Hoover PD recently hosted a training course that was attended by school resource officers from all over the country. SROs from California, New Mexico, and all the way to Rhode Island were right here in Hoover learning best practices on how to keep their kiddos safe in school.

Hoover SRO Brock Hardy can be seen in these photos going over Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). CPTED is an approach that focuses on improving the design of the built environment to help reduce opportunities for disputes and violence and promote positive behavior.

An SRO’s job doesn’t end there. They pride themselves on being more than just a law enforcement presence inside the school. They foster relationships with the students and the staff on a daily basis. It’s why #welovethisjob!
