Congratulations to Hoover PD Detective Clifton Washington for receiving the 2023 Shelby County Chamber’s Public Safety Award as Officer of the Year.
Detective Washington was recognized for his tenacious efforts taken in a two-year long investigation of burglaries in Hoover by several Chilean criminal gang members. As you can probably imagine, there is not enough room in a social media post to detail the painstaking and time-consuming process that Detective Washington went through to make a case on these national and international suspects.
Because of his professionalism and his dedication to the victims of these burglaries, multiple cases were closed, and multiple suspects were charged.
On behalf of the Hoover Police Department and the Hoover community, congratulations on this well-deserved award, Detective Washington.
