Hoover Police Investigating Tuesday Morning Shooting

On June 25, 2024 at approximately 3:04 AM the Hoover 911 Center received a call of a person shot in the 4500 block of High Court Circle. Responding officers located a male with a gunshot wound to the arm. The shooting victim was treated on the scene by the Hoover Fire Department and was transported to Grandview Hospital for further treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Officers detained the shooting victim’s brother at the residence and took him into custody for questioning. Detectives began an investigation and determined the shooting victim likely experienced a severe mental health crisis during which his brother fired one round.

Detectives have presented the case to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office and have released the shooter pending further investigation. The case may be presented to a Shelby County grand jury at a later date to determine if any criminal charges are warranted against either individual involved. Because there have been no criminal charges filed in this case the identities of the involved parties will not be released.
