“Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.”
Congratulations on your retirement, Animal Control Officer Danny Wade!
Earlier today, Chief Derzis was honored to present Animal Control Officer Danny Wade with a commemorative plaque to recognize his 25 years of service to the Hoover Police Department and the City of Hoover. Danny was hired on May 11, 1998, and his last official day with the City was June 30, 2023.
Danny has the obligatory ‘retirement beard’ already in full swing. When asked what he has planned for the next chapter, Danny laughed and said, “Oh, man. I’m going to keep busy, spend time with my grandkids, go on some cruises and do a lot of traveling! I want to do all of the things that you can’t really do while you’re working!”
You have definitely earned it, Danny!
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with you for all these years. Just like the words on our Tahoes, you have served the Hoover community with “Honor, Pride, and Dignity.”
You will certainly be missed, and we hope that you have a wonderfully happy retirement!
