chief derzis participates in washington d.c. roundtable

Chief Derzis represented Hoover as a panelist yesterday in Washington D.C. for a roundtable discussion hosted by Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville.

Chief shared with lawmakers what we are doing right here in Hoover to combat the fentanyl crisis, the department’s mental health initiatives as well as highlighting our mental health liaison that helps assist veterans in our community.

Other participants included Alabama Senator Katie Britt, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, former DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf, Chief Counsel to Alabama AG Steve Marshall Katherine Robertson, Cullman Sheriff Matt Gentry and former ATF agent Dean Kueter.
