Career Burglar Apprehended by U.S. Marshals: Demetric Lamond CHAPMAN

Career Burglar Apprehended by U.S. Marshals

At 12:30 p.m. on November 20, 2016, officers responded to a burglary in progress at Crest Cadillac on Montgomery Highway. An unknown male suspect forcefully entered the business through a rear bay door. Surveillance video showed this individual attempting to access a safe in the office area. He fled the scene just prior to officers arriving.

Evidence that was gathered quickly led to the identification of the suspect. A warrant for his arrest was obtained by detectives on November 23rd. This individual has been able to elude capture so the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force was recently contacted for assistance. Hoover detectives and deputy marshals located this suspect at 8:30 a.m. this morning, sitting in a vehicle, parked in the 1800 block of 4th Avenue South in Birmingham. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hoover City Jail. He is charged as follows:

•    Burglary 3rd degree             $10,000.00 bond
