HPD wins "Breakfast for a Day" with WERC October 13, 2015
Chief Derzis and the Hoover Police want to thank JT and the 105.5 WERC Birmingham Morning News Team for providing McDonald’s breakfast this morning at our Operations Building. Each week for the next several weeks, JT said that the community can nominate their local police department to receive breakfast for a day. The winners will be announced on his show Tuesday mornings. Also, a big THANK YOU to our community for nominating HPD and winning this week’s breakfast! You’re the best, and it is a pleasure to serve you!
Here is a little background info from WERC’s website on how their “Blue Lives Matter” campaign got started:
“Every day in our communities they keep our families safe. The brave men and women of law enforcement do a thankless job, and recently that job has become even more difficult and dangerous. NewsRadio 105-5 WERC wants to make a small gesture to brighten their day.
Each Week we invite you to visit WERCFM.com and click on the link for “Blue Lives Matter”. Nominate your local police department and get your friends do the same. On Tuesdays JT will announce that week’s winner on Birmingham’s Morning News on NewsRadio 105-5 WERC. Then following the show, JT will be serving breakfast to the winning police department. Just like in Chicago, you can vote as many times as you like! Food will be provided by McDonalds, where they now serve breakfast all day long.”
